Yikes, how awful. I get shingles very mildly, lucky me, down around my tummy every couple of years. The first time I went to the doctor with the symptoms he said, "you can't have shingles; you're too young!" which made me realize what I have to look forward to :-(
I'd go for the alternative medicines if they are able to give you relief.
p.s. how is the job going? Are you liking it?
