I have BP hypomania and take Parnate, Lamictal, and Klonopin for sleep. I also take 0.125 mg of Mirapex for Periodic Limb Movement Disorder.
Since Thursday evening I've had acute spells where my mind gets stuck on one subject and just goes round and round on that subject or very specific idea. I'm not hypomanic during the episodes. No matter what I do I can't stop it and I literally feel like it's driving me "crazy". My ears ring until the spells stop. I experience extreme exhaustion during the spells, and it's worse when I close my eyes and/or when it's very quiet. (therefore "relaxing" is counterproductive)
Is there a name for this. Also, can it be caused by a vitamin deficiency. I eat a very restricted diet due to food intolerances.
A few meats (no fish), potatoes, corn, rice, and apples are the foundation of my diet. Lately I've been eating large amounts of corn chips and applesauce, to the exclusion of other foods.
Green vegetables aren't included except for some cabbage once in a while. Carrots maybe once a week. Nectarine, plums, and peaches are eaten when in season.
I take good amounts of Folic acid, Magnesium, and Calcium.
I'm not into alt med and won't use herbs.
Ideas? I need help ASAP.
