I got depressed during both of my pregnancies- for the first 4 months. It seemed to coincide with my morning sickness. As soon as the sickness went away, the depression lifted.

I wasn't severely depressed or suicidal-- with my 2nd son, it actually was worse during that pregnancy. I slept a LOT and cried a LOT but once I hit around 5 months, I felt actually happier and calmer as the progesterone increased.

If I were you, I would give it another month or two... You might be surprised at how much better you will feel when you are closer to the end of the 2nd trimester.

IF you are still having a hard time, and if you have tried changing your diet and walking every day- and ALL ELSE fails... than I would talk to the dr. about going back on the meds.

I know it's so tough to decide so I will pray for you- that this would lift soon so you don't have to make a tough choice.

BUT... whatever you have to decide, please don't feel guilty- that will only make it worse.

As for post partum, do you plan on nursing??

For some reason, nursing helped my post partum so much. I think it helps your body/chemistry get back into place easier and faster ( it also helped me drop serious weight!).
