I have read that very high levels of B6 can be toxic and cause neurological damage. However, I've read the opposite too. The range of normal is listed on the lab report.
For myself ... I found out I had absolutely no trace of B6 in my blood at all. Per neurologist, I do not have the enzymes to absorb it so I was given a prescription form of B6, folic acid, and B12. Turned out to be too much of a good thing and the benefit I gained initially were lost w/mildly unpleasant symptoms following. When I went off the Rx for 3 months I lost all traces of B6 again so went back on the prescription and now take 1/4 pill a day. Seems to work.
Per B12 - I understand that realistically there is no harm in a high dose. However, somewhere in the back of my mind, I believe that certain B vitamins need to be taken together either to work properly or to prevent other diseases from occurring. It would be a good idea to do an internet search on that.
By the way, the blood test for B6, B12, and folic acid was mainstream medicine by a neurologist - it's not alternative at all. It requires a special lab, though.
