I know Benadryl can make people sleepy sometimes, and others do use it as a relaxant.

I find that it is EXCELLENT for my allergies, better than Claritin or other OTC drugs.

If you're feeling groggy/not yourself, it may be due to the Benadryl. I'd ask the doctor about that - maybe there's something else you can take?

Also - do you have blocked sinuses, sinus infection, or something else that might be inhibiting breathing? If you have an infection right now, due to allergies/etc., maybe an antibiotic is needed.
