I quit smoking 2 years ago, then started again, but when I quit the lozenges helped, and well you could always replace the cigarettes with those. You'd have to check the statistics yourself but I have read that even after 20 years of smoking, if you quit, within 10 years your lungs are back to normal. If you don't quit soon enough though you have emphysema which can't be reversed. Sometimes I feel like cigarettes are my only friend, even though when I wasn't smoking I dealt fine and felt better physically. It really is the psychological dependence that's the hardest part.
