Using all my motivation to exercise

Posted by ClearSkies on August 11, 2005, at 14:08:34

I am the Best and Most Original Couch Potato. We have 3, count 'em, 3 couches to choose from, depending upon on current state of potato-ness. Since my mood has become more stable (thank you, Topamax and a competent therapist at last!!), I do not exactly have more energy, but I am more motivated.
So I am going to the gym. Three times a week, so help me. I sweat very heavily. I wear a towel tucked into my shorts so I can mop as I go around the circuit. I work hard. I have not lost any weight (yet) but seem to have stopped becoming larger.
Yesterday (my off day from the gym) I did my dance warm up exercises for the first time in over a year. This morning I could feel that I have a waist, because it hurt!
I'm trying. I'm trying very hard.
It is more difficult with me not working because I really *don't* have a reason to get out of bed in the morning, but my cat is my alarm clock. Promptly at 5:30am, she'll start pulling the covers off of me while purring as loudly as she can. If I go back to bed after feeding her, she'll only let me snooze for another hour before peeling off the covers again. It's quite nice to live with a creature of habit to keep me in line.
Anyway, that's me at the moment. Still struggle having the "oomph" to care enough to cook a proper dinner on a regular basis, but have had sense enough to stock up the freezer and pantry so calling out for a pizza is not the first and only option now.
How is every one doing in living a healthy life?
