I can imagine ditching your glasses would leave you feeling naked. But you'll get used to it.

As for the family not pampering you, I don't know what to say abou that. Nor do I know what to say about them taking advantage of you with the BS (that's baby sitting). Throw a tantrum if you have to, and good luck with it...
