If you have HIGH cortisol, it means that your adrenal is OVER producing, not UNDER producing. It is very important that you have follow-up tests done to see if you have Cushings or Pseudo Cushings.

Cushings can create severe depression (because of the high cortisol) and Pseudo Cushings can be created by severe depression and / or anxiety.

Both are good starting points.

Even if you don't have the "regular" version of Cushing's (aused generally by a usually benign tumor on the pituitary or the adrenal glands), it is vital to get the cortisol under control.

No anti-depressent or anti-anxiety therapy will work as long as the cortisol is excessively elevated.
