Tabitha, Rain and Partlycloudy - Thanks much :-)

I'm thorougly confused about the hormone replacement issue. There's a lot of conflicting advice out there.

-- Tabitha - me too and I agree :-) Hard to know what to do < sigh >. My mom says it's one of the joys (or not! I say) of being a woman. But then, she was one of those women who responded very badly to HRT and had to stop using it.

Just a thought, but there is the possibility that it is medication side effects. I think sweating is common with many drugs and from experience medications have made my periods very irregular at times. Did it start when you started your new medication?

-- Rain - That's a good point. I believe I started the new med after the second one in 30 days, so perhaps that could explain the 3rd one. Hard to say. Perhaps I will see what happens next month to see if it was just a blip. Thanks.

> If you haven't had any med changes recently that could cause the excessive sweating, it could be you're starting perimenopause. And stress alone can interrupt a normal monthly cycle.

-- Partlycloudy - I have been experiencing some stress in the past few weeks related to a personal situation that has me very worried. But, I have been under far worse stress in my life, and never had any disruptions with my cycle before. But, one never knows how stress will affect the body.

> Best to check with your gyn, though. I was in a similar situation (with migraine headaches added in just for kicks) 2 years ago, and my doc put me on a birth control pill - for the first time in my life! - and it has certainly helped, though it took trying many different types before we found one with the least side effects.
> Both my sister and I started this phase of our lives relatively early (age 40). It makes puberty seem like a lark.

-- Ooh, poor you - migraines :-( I have a couple of friends who suffer from migraines regularly, and to say they suffer is putting it mildly. I would not wish migraines on my worst enemy. I am glad you have found some relief with bc pills (no more migraines I hope). I will likely make an appointment with the gyn. I am not particularly happy with him because he was the one who put me on Depo, to which I had an extremely debilitating reaction. But, I don't have much of a choice since my family doctor (in whom I had great trust and confidence) just closed her practice due to illness :-( I have heard that women who have not have children can experience the onset of menopause earlier than those who have had children. So, that may well be the case with me. Oh well :-(

Thanks again to all of you for the responses.

Take good care of yourselves and be well,

Tamara
