Are you talking about TENS? Transcutaneous Electronic Nerve Stimulation? Same devices are sold as EMS, Electronic Muscle Stimulation, or similar phrasing.

Pure bogus. Yes, compared to the total sloth existence, there is an increase in muscle activity with these units. But compared to walking over to the other side of the room to pick the thing up off a shelf, walking is more exercise, hands down.

There is no machine that will replace anything even close the exercise of day to day activity. I don't think they are even 1% of the exertion of walking. Probably less than 0.1%.
