Hello,
I have posted to this site before for another issue and was very happy w/the response, thank you!
I am writing in regards to a very outstanding issue. I have been dealing with a on/off severe headache on the left side of my head above my ear for a year now. It started in Dec. '03, so I went to my internist (ear/nose/throat) thinking I had an infection or a migraine. I didn't and I didn't meet the specs for a migraine patient. I have no sensitivity to light/sound and the pain at times is very severe limiting me to a day off work and all day agony. The pain spirals around my ear to my face to my jaw and into my left eye. It's very odd b/c at times it seems to go away, but is most painful after I wake up and sometimes after I engage in sexual activity. My internist sent me for a brain scan (with no findings). I went to my dentist and she recommended a wisdom tooth removal, which I did...then they returned a month later and found a double-abscess so drained that and then preformed a root canal. I even cut my hair shorter thinking it was my heavy hair.
That was Dec./January '03-'04. Things went well for a while after that. They reoccurred in blips of sharp pains, same area but nothing as long winded as they were during that time.
Then in July of this past summer, I was abroad and experienced the same sharp pains. It was unbearable this time, so I went to a another dentist in Istanbul, they said there was no infection (x-rays) and no issues, in fact they said it might be due to stress, or slight TAJ. My dentist in DC said no to the TAJ since my teeth did not show anything.
That episode went away after a week and a half.
Now, this October for the last week it has reappeared. It has been 6 days no with no pain releif. I've again tried everything, nothing kills the pain. I went to my General practice Doc and she suggests going to a neurologist. I will, but what could this be?
Could it be related to my Spinobifida Oculta I was born with? I am currently on Yasmin, Lexapro and singluar for my asthma.
Please advise I need your advice!
Thank you-
Siobhan
