Glucophage, as I understand it, helps reduce blood glucose by decreasing insulin resistance. That allows the insulin your body produces to bring your blood glucose down. So, no, it's not an appetite suppressant, as such. It's a drug used to treat diabetes.

Don't rely solely on my very limited knowledge, though. I know very little about it. You might try reading through the drug description at the NIH's site, MedlinePlus.com.
