Just found out neither Vioxx or Celebrex are covered by Kaiser Health Plan and is quite expensive. Anyone know of any other NSAID pain med similiar to Vioxx or Celebrex that is covered by Kaiser? I am tapering off Oxycontin after 2 years and going back to tylenol/codeine#3. In fact in a couple or more weeks, I will be on only codeine and am finding out already that I will need additional pain med to supplement the codeine as obviously the Oxycontin is a more powerful painkiller than codeine alone. It was my choice to detox from Oxy because I did not like the grip it had on me when I ran out of oxy and was unable to get a refill right away. I experienced the withdrawal symptoms even after only 1 day of not taking Oxy and they were horrible. I ended up going into Urgent Care where they gave me an emergency refill and from that day on I made up my mind that I did not want to continue taking Oxy. I had been taking codeine for over 5 years prior to taking Oxy.

I have had two failed back surgeries and numerous nerve block and cortisone injections and my PCP indicated that my back has endured so much trauma, (the injury, failed back surgeries and the numerous injections), that I now have an arthritic condition causing chronic back pain. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.
