Well, your brain does run on glucose, but I don't think that means you have to have sugar drinks. I'll give you some possibly annoying motherly advice. I used to drink soda all day long, since it seemed it was the only thing that kept my mood and energy up. Well I finally got off it, and make sure to have protein snacks, whole fruit and drink lots of water instead of the soda. I feel better, my appetite has gone down, and I sleep better at night. All that sugar was not really the friend I thought it was. I felt like absolute cr*p for a couple weeks during the transition.
