I love my soda, but I drink caffeine free (I like it for the taste-caffeine makes me ill)

If you can identify more reasons behind your intake, this may help to decrease your consumption of caffeinated drinks.

For example, are you tired? Do you drink to stay awake? Like the flavor or carbonation of the drink? Do you just like having a warm drink? Do you perhaps just like drinking beverages in general?

Once you start to narrow down your reasons, then you can begin to address them. For example, cutting down your intake slowly. I don't think its dangerous to have 1-3 cups of coffee a day (unless you're drinking those 2 liter Starbucks "cups" haha) but you have to determine what is a comfortable level for you.

Keep us posted and let me know what you think! Good luck...
