yes when you accept jesus christ and repent of your sins, the holy spirit can come, it can turn your from evil ways of the world. Sin, your right, i have to sin many times, for needs, and i realized i sin'd but i repented of it, and truely ment it. I don't exactly think that you have to be phsyically babtized, but when you pray, your repent of sins, and you ask the lord, and jesus for forgiveness and ask him to send the holy spirit into you. The holy spirit will never make you desire the things in the world, such as indulgances, worldly things, and sin is easy and almot programmed into our DNA but we have to resist it and repent,. And also asking jesus to save you, your name would be written in the lambs book of life, which will happen on judgement day. It will be terrible day, of who is written in the book and who isnt, but it's very far off right now from current time. But you ask jesus for forgiveness.
The holy spirit, gives life, and one more time, it will never urge you to do things of the world, worldy things like pleasures and indulgances of sin and the world. Doing true goodness, healing the sick, stuff that jesus did when he was here on earth. Following jesus, and asking discernment of truth, and falsity, do discern between true and false things, having a intution through discernment. Find jesus, because he said his sheep will know his voice, and be wise as a serpant but harmless as a dove. I hope that could explain little. I'm still looking for the holy spirit, but jesus also said warn people about the abyss, that's why i preach or talk so much about it, because it is a place, that indescriable of darkness, and burning fire that can't be quenched. Follow him, listen to his voice, and have discernment of what is true, and what is false. That's what i can writ hope it helps
