His love and grace is already there, you don't have to do anything to earn it. But what you need is....wisdom. Wisdom to know what to do. He promised to give that to all who ask for it, and He does. You, me, all of us, need the kind of wisdom that can only come from Him.

Scott,
You wrote,[...Perhaps they each offered
service to the same Jesus, but in different ways...].
I am unsure as to what you are wanting to mean here. If you could post answers to thhe following, then I could have the opportunity to respond accordingly.
Assuming that there is only one Jesus, the real Jesus, if people offered service and worship to that Jesus in different ways, could we have the following possibilities? If not, why not?
The possibilities are:
A. The real Jesus said that people can offer service to him anyway they want to.
B. The real Jesus said that there are some right ways to offer service and some wrong ways to offer service to him.
C. The real Jesus gave a way that is the right way to offer service to him
D. The real Jesus did not want anyone to offer service to him.
E. The real Jesus said that if you offer service to him in the wrong way, that you are worshipping a different Jesus.
F. There are more than one real Jesus'
G something else
