It was I. And yes, it is that James. He was head of the followers of Jesus who were also Jewish and based in Jerusulem. And he ran into some difficulties with Paul. And the Roman government, as I recall, since he was executed.
I would love to study theology on any number of levels. What I've read of the apocryphal gospels unfortunately have me realizing it wasn't all politics that kept them excluded from the New Testament. :) I don't recall offhand which ones I've looked at, though, or if Thomas was one of them.
I haven't really looked at my religious books lately. Maybe if I ever unbury myself at work, I'll try.
