There's evil in this world because we each insist on having our own way (even subtley), rather than relying on God and His way.

Children do suffer because of the faults of others - each of us has suffered in those ways, some more than others.

But God always offers a way THROUGH the suffering, even though He doesn't always offer a way OUT of the suffering.

Eventually each and every person must make a decision to either meet God on His terms, or to try to make our own way. If we seek His way, then we come under His protection, which will always bring good out of every painful thing that happens to us.

If we seek our own way, we don't avail ourselves of His offer of protection, and the suffering will only lead to bitterness, and destruction.

The suffering itself, is inevitable.

What we do about it, is our own choice.
