Thankyou for that explanation Dena, but lingo difference here-- I was just talking about a "sunday" thought, or a favorite scripture, or a favorite saying, anything that might touch the life of another.

Does your understanding of Sabbath come from your Jewish roots, or your Christian upbringing? Is there a difference between Sabbath day and sabbath? In my opinion/understanding/belief, the Sabbath is one day out of seven set aside as a day of peace and rest from our labors. It could be any day of the week, however most of us have selected Saturday or Sunday. It is a day set aside to focus on things spiritual, give thanks, attend church, read scriptures, hold family council, visit the elderly, the sick, and family members. We should avoid recreational activities, and only work as necessity demands.

There are many work places that require Sunday employment, and so we make up for it by attending worship service at another time during the day. My attitude is, do what you have to but you are better off if you don't have to work on Sunday. Better off has to do with immediate natural consequense.

Communication is difficult when we don't speak the same spiritual language. Perhaps most religious differences could be worked out if we better understood one another's point of reference. It appears that sabbath is a good example of a word that would have a different meaning in nearly every religion.
