I can only speak for myself and I believe that our health can improve. And you asked if there is a common belief. Are you saying that "common" is the same as "unanimous", or is "common" something that is something shared by the "majority" or is "common" something other than those two things?
I like your inquiery and I agree with a lot of your other posts from your faith. It appears that you are a member of the Morman group, for you cited a Morman list of principles. In my journeys, I met a Morman fellow and he was one of the few people that listened to me without scorning me or ridiculing me. He helped me by his being an example to other in eschewing tobacco, alchohol and drugs in the 60's when those things were in vogue. As I look back, I can say that he was part of my overcomming for he gave me inspiration to continue on the Road to overcomming. He was a light in a dark place.
