Okay, I have reservations about going that far, but this last few weeks, I 've been stymied with soldering in my jewelry class. It's been extremely discouraging, with my doing it over and over again, and the two pieces just wouldn't join.
I was even working at home, for hours every day.
Then after Monday, after spending another few hours without success, I was really depressed about this, and about my always getting scared when soldering, and how I never learned how to learn things-- either I could do them right away, or not do them at all. I felt like it was almost hopeless.
The next day, I worked at it really hard, and I was really careful to pay attention to everything that was happening, and I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. And then I found a solution that worked-- and I kept on doing it and the soldering actually started working out--
So now I can really do it! I mean not that I won't have trouble with other soldering challenges-- but I feel as if I turned a corner, and am learning how to learn something, and surmount difficulties without giving up.
So I'm really kind of happy about that.
