A Great And Terrible Beauty

Posted by Racer on July 15, 2007, at 14:50:59

As some of you know -- since I call on my cell phone to ask if you've heard of something -- I buy a lot of books at Costco. Things I may never have heard of, but sound interesting. This was one of them, from the children's book table.

There was a sticker on the front, saying something like, "If you liked 'Harry Potter,' you'll like this!" I can't say I agree, but it was an engaging enough book. (Is that damning with faint praise?)

If you're looking for light, not too strenuous, adolescent prose, I offer up to you "A Great And Terrible Beauty," by Libba Bray. It's not a great book, but it's interesting enough, and it goes fast...
