It's the first I've read of his, and I recommend it. It is certainly disturbing, which you'll know if you are familiar with the story line, but it's also very well written, and intriguing. The underlying message, assuming I got it, is one that I agree with, wholeheartedly.
I've never read anything else by Ishiguro, and nor have I seen the movie version of "The Remains of the Day," but after reading this one, I guess I'll have to get my hands on that next... Anyone else familiar with his work? What did you think?
