Anyone read Gregory Maguire?

I saw some of his books, "Wicked," "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister," and "Mirror, Mirror," at Costco, but was being on my best financial behavior. (On accounta I just bought a heap o'stuff online...) Now, I'm still thinking about them, and wondering if I should have been more impulsive? They do look like good fun, and the guy did write tons of kids books, but I would like at least one recommendation? If anyone can?
