> Which Faulkner books did you get? I like "THE SOUND AND THE FURY" and "THE HAMLET." One of my former professors thought THE HAMLET was Faulkner's best novel, but I like THE SOUND AND THE FURY better.

June's selection: "As I Lay Dying"

July: "The Sound and The Fury"

August: "Light in August"

I just joined Oprah's book club, because starting tonight (June 6, 7 p.m. EST) there will be a lecture every Monday night featuring guest experts.

As I Lay Dying: Robert W. Hamblin, Professor of English and Director of the Center for Faulkner Studies at Southeast Missouri State University, where he has taught since 1965.

The Sound and The Fury: Thadious M. Davis, Geraldine R. Segal Professor of American Social Thought and Professor of English at the University of Pennsylvania.

Light in August: Arnold Weinstein, has been at Brown University since 1968 where he has held the position of Edna and Richard Salomon Distinguished Professor of Comparative Literature since 1995.

Oprah's bookclub is at oprah.com/bookclub The "official" editions are from Random House Vintage International and can be purchased individually or as a boxed set under "Oprah's Book Club Presents A Summer of Faulkner" (couldn't find a link on Amazon... I got mine at Barnes & Noble when I was at a mall yesterday... complete impulse, as I was there to get my son the fourth book in "The Lost Years of Merlin" series).
