If you haven't read The Bell Jar

Posted by partlycloudy on October 4, 2004, at 19:08:48

I seriously recommend it. It is such a vivid view of depression. Even though Sylvia Plath was better known for her poetry, and best known for committing suicide, I found this book to be a great snapshot of what I imagine a woman's life in the 1950's would be.

I am definitely going to chose it for my book club this month. I read loads of contemporary fiction, and nothing really "spoke" to me. I read this last year when I first was dx'd with bipolarII and it struck such a chord of truth.

It's also pretty short, which makes it easier to read.
