Earth's Children

Is anyone familiar with Jean M. Auel's Earth's Children series? It started with Clan of the Cave Bear.
It goes back to the dawn of modern humans to a harsh and beautiful Ice Age world shared by a girl named Ayla and the ones who call themselves the Clan of the Cave Bear.
Although I did not get deep meanings from these books, I was completely enamoured by the fantasy and have read the entire series 3 times.
