I loved Life of Pi too. My mother suggested it to me (we are a family of avid readers) just because the author is Canadian. She has a shameful patriotic streak... much to my surprise and delight, I LOVED it. I introduced it to the book club I was in at the time (which I have sinced backed out of due to anxiety attacks), hosted a dinner discussion of the book where I served Indian cuisine. It was quite a hit. The rapsody Pi makes over his favourite foods really struck a chord with me. I can get quite attached to books and associations they induce.

*Sigh* Book club was very cool apart from having to socialize with the participants. I was SOOOOO out of my league! Chatting with lawyers, doctors and professors really intimidated me, and in the end it got the best of me. How about a PS book club... we could read and discuss books here. Has it been done already...
