boy i found these books amazing... i liked them as a teenager, had sort of forgotten about them until i was asked to write a review of a book of criticism on children's science fiction and reread them. very deep and certainly obviously jungian...sometimes they almost felt self-help-like...though way better in story form.

i like harry potter too, though it is much lighter and seems more purely entertainment, which i need sometimes.

but le guin, her writing is certainly a cut above!
