I may be barking up the wrong tree but it's worth a shot:
Defending The Devil, My Story as Ted Bund's Last Lawyer by Polly Nelson. When the author took on the case she was ridiculouly womanish in her media relations but in time became more contemplative and appropriate, but I never took to her at all.much less her narrative style.
The real treat in the book was the psychiatrist that went along for Bundy's last go-round, the excerpts of her insights and conversations w/ Bundy are well worth the read for anyone who is a primary family member of a sadistic killer.
The book was part of my journey toward understanding the incomprehensible and that's why I'd like to suggest it. But for anyone who has an insurmountable victims rights position I think the book would anger and disgust them, so it's definately not for everyone. But if there's anyone in the bookclub who wants to read and discuss the book I'm available for that.
