I would recommend 'The Brain Wellness Plan' by Dr.Jay Lombard and Carl Germando. It is a new book and the authors spare no expense in detailing all the latest nutritional and conventional remedies for depression, Alzhiemers Disease, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorder, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons Disease and Lou Gehrig's Disease. In the section on depression the authors explain the importance of B-Vitamins, the possible use and controversy surrounding the amino acid L-Tryptophan, the relatioship between overactive cortisal levels and depression, omega-3 fatty acids, fluctuations in blood sugar as the brain is highly dependenat on glucose as a source of energy. What is most impressive is the authors extensive knowledge of the connection between the brain and the immune system which is, I believe, the main underlying theme in the book. I wouldnt recommend it as a great source on depression but an overall look at the body-brain-disease interaction and a good source for supplements to maintain emotional wellbeing for those that want to remain superbly mentally fit.
