Thanks for your reply. I can certainly understand not wanting to take niacin, if it does indeed raise mortality rates. Unfortunately, I'm not well versed on the research on fish oil and omega-3 fatty acids as it relates to mortality. I tried searching for information on fish oil and longevity and came up with some conflicting information, and it seems to me that it would probably take someone with a strong science background to properly sort through the studies that have been done on omega-3 fatty acids and longevity and answer your question. Maybe somebody else here can do that, but I don't feel qualified to analyze the data, which seem to be conflicting.
I hope that you can find the answers that you're looking for.
