I own a BT7 and I've used a David Paradise XL. Neither one helped my insomnia. But both had a calming effect on me, at least initially. Over time, my brain became habituated to them. What kind of pain are you in?
Read this post about an insomnia remedy I stumbled upon. I've been using it for several months now, and I'm sleeping well most nights, which wasn't the case for many years.
