Lamdage22,
I think that it would be hard to say which of the vitamins in the multivitamin supplement that you took might be worsening your depression. My first guess would be that it might be the folates, but the folate dose in the multivitamin that you took doesn't seem to be that high, so I don't know.
I've never noticed any changes in mood that I could attribute to taking a multivitamin. However (and I don't mention this often because I don't think that anyone will believe me), I did notice an increase in pseudohallucinations the last time I took a Centrum multivitamin. I suppose it's possible that the increase in pseudohallucinations could have been caused by something other than the multivitamin, but I don't recall anything else out of the ordinary happening then that might have caused that symptom to worsen.
But anyway, if you seem to notice feeling more depressed (or more psychotic) on a multivitamin or any other supplement, I think that it would be best to compare how you feel while taking it with how you feel without it and then of course to avoid those supplements that seem to lead to a worsening of symptoms. As much as it would be nice to know exactly why your multivitamin might be worsening your depression, just knowing that it does worsen your depression (assuming that it does so) should be all that you really need to know to decide to avoid taking it. As far as recommendations for multivitamins are concerned, I think that if you have problems with some multivitamins that going for a more basic one would probably be best. That's probably what I'll do if I end up taking a multivitamin again.
