I did neurofeedback in 2000-01 and it was fairly helpful for my depression and anxiety. I used to feel extremely self-conscious whenever I was in a public place -- mall, supermarket, even walking down a busy street. Neurofeedback wiped this out. Since 2000, neurofeedback has become much more sophisticated. Better technology, better protocols. So I hope to go back for some more of it before too long. A very informative book about it is A Symphony in the Brain by Jim Robbins. Something else you might try that's a whole lot cheaper than neurofeedback is Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE).
The TRE DVD is $28, but you can get a pretty good idea of how to do it by watching the YouTube videos.
