Vitamin B Complex Can Create Mania?

Posted by dsae3 on February 21, 2014, at 6:48:41

I am taking Swanson Vitamins:

This year when I took the full capsules, I had full energy to the extent that I was unable to sleep. Although I am taking antipsychotics.

Later I splitted the capsules with the capsule splitter, and took them in half.

This time I have full energy and can not sleep. I am taking antipsycotics that are supposed to make me sleepy and sleep a lot (they should make me sleep nearly 11 hours or more but I sleep 8 hours or so with B Vitamins).

Would the B vitamins give that much energy? Is that possible? Or can it be just that it trigerred my mania? If it is energy - then fine. But if it triggered mania - then not healthy. I searched google scholar etc. and did not see anyone getting mania from B Vitamins. (On the opposite, one case that low B12 created mania).

Do you believe it can give that much real energy - can it be some kind of mania? (I am cyclothmic bipolar other than schizoaffective).

When I give up B Vitamins, energy returns back to normal and last month I had a depression for 2 days and after B Vitamins my mood has lifted so up that not only depression was gone, but also a very good state of mood came.

It creates a feeling in the days I was taking Prozac (which initiated the cyclothmia with me.)

Would it be that it might be creating mania?
