Do you have epilepsy? Do you react positively to anticonvulsants? What is the reason you take benzodiazepines? My doctor thinks gabapentin is a useless drug. Definitely not a front line therapy for seizures. What other anti-seizure drugs have you used? I know some of them can have bad side effects for some people. Benzos are pretty safe, but their efficacy "poops out" after using them long-term. I was on lorazepam for a number of years for severe anxiety. After two years, the lorazepam didn't help much anymore. Today, I don't use it anymore. I like it too much. In fact, at social events I used to take more for recreation. It's a great drug used once in a while, but not long-term, in my opinion. You develop tolerance to the drug. However, Klonopin has been used long-term. It's a long-acting benzo. Have you ever used it for seizure activity? Maybe that would be a better alternative.
