Maybe creatine is increasing output of adenosine at night, which plays a major role in calming the brain and preparing us for a restful sleep.
I was also thinking that creatine is improving brain energy production during the day, having a greater "winding down" or resting effect at night, similar to how exercise allows us to rest and sleep easier at night.
