I find manganese helps with anxiety if your copper levels are too high. High copper levels will cause a feeling of overstimulation and possibly, depression in certain cases. For those who have Pyroluria, both zinc and manganese should be taken to help lower copper levels. I have used manganese for about a year, then determined that I didn't need it anymore, but I am sticking with the zinc permanently. So you could take manganese for 6 months or more, and then probably stop taking it once your copper levels have decreased. That's just how it worked out for me. I don't really need the manganese anymore, but the zinc is a must indefinitely. Anyone with pyroluria definitely has to supplement with zinc.
