The half life for fluoxetine may be what you say but the half life for it's active metabolize Norfluoxetine is 4-16 days according to Wiki. I've read and can personally testify that you may feel the effects after stopping for 4 weeks.

I would not recommend anyone try Prozac unless you have tested will with any of the other similar SSRI's that have a much shorter half life. If Prozac has a negative effect for you, you may have to endure it for a long time.
