histamine/methylation/pfeiffer institute

Posted by g_g_g_unit on May 3, 2009, at 2:33:18

i was wondering if anyone has undergone treatment for abnormally elevated/lowered histamine levels in an attempt to combat anxiety, etc.? a couple of months ago, during my Nardil trial, I ended up arranging a meeting with a GP who was an observer of the Pfeiffer Institute method, and who, after identifying me as high-histamine/undermethylated, prescribed a cocktail made-up of:

2x B6 in morning
1x P5P in morning
2x L-Methionine in morning, 2x at night
2x Calcium/Mag in morning, 2x at night
1x Zinc chelate at night
1000mg of Vit C a day

now, these days, I have become a lot more wary of what I put into my body, and was just wondering whether the aforemention combo was indeed as innocuous as the prescribing doctor mentioned. given that i've just finished tapering off Nardil, it's hard to pinpoint what's having what effect; one plus side - i believe - is that I've experienced almost zero residual anxiety during tapering.but i am also feeling a lot more 'inwardly focused' and finding it more difficult to engage socially. again, that might be a rebound effect from Nardil (which i only just stopped completely a week ago), but i was wondering whether lowering histamine involves the regulation of all neurotransmitters, or whether, given the axiolytic nature of a lot of what i'm taking, there might some bias?
