This is the only information regarding side effects of taurine I could find:
"Excess taurine may cause anxiety, irritabil-
ity, and a high sensitivity to noise. Euro-
pean countries have banned the sale of
energy drinks because the safety of the
so called energizing ingredients in com-
bination is not known and are potentially
dangerous."
