I plan to start low to be safe.
> I'm currently on Parnate, and my experience is that Parnate is touchier, or more temperamental and less forgiving that Nardil wrt blood pressure issues. How do you think Marplan ranks in this department?
No problems at all, and I even eat lashings of gravy (containing yeast/meat extracts) without any problems. In fact I'd say it may well be even safer than Nardil. With Nardil I even got mild hypertension feelings (head & spine tingles. mild headaches, etc) from eating old potatoes (possibly because of tryptophan content or simply the potatoes' age) & rice (which contains high levels of tyrosine). No such effects with Marplan.
> FWIW, Nardil (45mg) made me horny as the day as long, and any delayed orgasm was so slight it was more of a benefit. Upping the dose made it worse, tho. And combining other meds with Nardil made the delayed orgasm much, much worse. Provigil and Neurontin, and Klonopin, to be specific. None of it interfered with actual desire or erection, just delayed orgasm. And at least Nardil orgasms were normal, and not those weird misfires you get with other drugs.
I'm sure the anorgasmia would get better if I lowered the dose a little but I dare not even contemplate that at the moment whilst my mood is good. I know it will go in the end, even if I have to wait for it to go on it's own accord.
> One thing that I've noticed increases pleasure, etc. is Choline. I used to take Choline Chloride, just for overall benefits -- the sex stuff was a side-effect. It's a cheap liquid, but it's hard to find (VRP may still sell it), and it tastes like robot urine. (You should take CC with Pantothenic Acid). It also had the fish-odor side effect if you take too much, and if you really take too much, it'll make you feel horrible. I've taken it with Nardil and Parnate with no problems. If you're not on a strict budget, there's other forms of choline you could try. Bulk Alpha-GPC has a vaguely pleasant taste, doesn't seem to have the fish-odor side effect. Needless to say, it's also fairly pricey.
