My new psychiatrist says my type 2 bipolar might be caused by ADD. I have been to many different specialists and not once was this thought to be an issue. I took my first dose of dexamphetamine this morning and within an hour felt a relaxing chill go DOWN my spine.
What are peoples opinions on my dr's diagnosis?
I got my partner to read the leaflet before i did so i wouldnt "take on" any symptoms i dont even have. My partner says it explains alot of my behaviours. (also explains the suicidal ideation i get fromn SSRI's.)I then read the information for myself and discovered the same thing. I thought i had just wrecked my brain from previous drug use and that my childhood behaviour came from what was happening around me at the time.
I do have a BAD memory, and trouble focusing or multi tasking, or maintaining motivation in any area of life.
Has anyone had much luck with dexamphetamine for ADD, im worried about a tolerance, which i will inevitably have i guess, after all, it is a form of speed. That ill have to take for the rest of my life, right?
I also have borderline personality disorder that im dealing with in therapy without medication, except maybe a mood stabilizer if needed.
Any ideas on a good mood stabilizer that works with dex in rapid cycling moods in australia?
