I think you need to take more than B1 only. You need to atleast take B12. What I'm taking is a mix of 11 different B's. Which includes: B1, B2, niacin, B6, folic acid, B12, biotin, pantothenic acid, PABA, inositol, choline bitarate. All in one pill at a dose each of 100mg or 100mcg. Called B-100. B-12 is one that deffinetly affects nerve health and depression and stress. You are right that B-1 helps too, I just have never taken that one separetly. My Pdoc perscribed the B-complex, he suggested B-50, but pharmacist told me that B-100 is the best and not much more expensive.
things that I've noticed since taking it are: increased sense of touch, and more visual experience, colors more colorfull, vision better.
I don't realy know which B-vitamins are doing what they do, just that whatever is in the B-100 complex is working.
