You substantially increase the likelihood of side effects if you do it that way. Otherwise, there's not a huge difference.

There isn't one. Four meals a week would be a healthy target, though.

Well, that depends on the fish itself. There is a lot of variation. And my personal serving size is a hell of a lot bigger than a nutritionist's would be. I'll eat a whole four pound salmon, but I bet a serving would be 3 oz. or something equally ridiculous.

Your potential health benefits from fish oils would be proportional to intake, with a tapering off of effect at the high end as your body started to burn them for fuel instead of incorporating them into cells. Issues of tolerability would also increase with intake. Your personal balance of these two factors would determine optimal dosing, IMHO.

5 grams/week long-chain omega-3 would be a ballpark target, but you might do better building up to that level over time. Surpass it if you can.
