If it works for you that's fortunate, but let the rest of the sick population receive protection from organizations like FDA and Health Canada. They are not always successful, but they are most reliable.

> SquigglesAnd what is it that you think the FDA and Health Canada actually do, with regards to nutrition? Sweet f*ck all, is the answer. There is nothing proactive in their behaviour. They do no research of their own. They regulate. They do not recommend, except if somebody told them to do so. They are the ultimate form of GIGO (garbage in, garbage out). For example, do you know where the "food pyramid" came from? Answer: nutritional guidelines to help Americans cope with food rationing during WW II. It was virtually unchanged for over 40 years! There is no science behind it now, and there never was.
And despite overwhelming scientific evidence to the contrary, they still proffer the false assertion that all nutritional needs can be met with a "balanced diet". Using the USDA nutrient database as a resource, it is NOT POSSIBLE to meet the known RDA/DRIs for even a single day. I'm wondering when the FDA and Health Canada are going to START to do what is right. The food industry is driving the trend towards nutrient fortified foods, not government. Government regulations actually suppress this trend.
