Thank you all for your wisdom as it played a role in allowing me to rid myself of Zoloft after 7 years (albeit with horrific side effects) but am advancing slowly but surely.
I'm currently on an investigation to determine what natural supplement will be best in the long-run to combat my depression/anxiety and am currently experimenting with tryptophan.
My specific question relates to tryptophan's potential role in autoimmune diseases. Current research shows that it can "calm" the immune system, I believe almost acting as a immunomodulator. My concern is that I suffer from another condition (herpes) in which it is important to keep my immune system active and very alert and I take some supplements to ensure this (olive leaf extract and camu camu). If tryptophan can "calm" the immune system, would this leave one more susceptible to a less vigilant immune system?
Thanks for your thoughts.
